Situated in a quiet residential area on the outskirts of Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, The Miclaran occupies an elevated cliff top position overlooking the English Channel enjoying stunning panoramic sea views over Sandown Bay to Culver Cliff.
The garden is adjacent to the coastal path and steps nearby lead down to Welcome Beach below. Small Hope Beach, Hope Beach and Shanklin Esplanade are a pleasant walk in one direction and Sandown the other. The beaches are sheltered and offer safe bathing with a variety of water sports such as canoeing, sailing and surfing.
Shanklin's famous Thatched Old Village is a 15-20 minute walk away with an array of gift shops, tea rooms, pubs, bistros and restaurants.
The local railway station at Lake is 5 minutes walk away, and the nearest bus stop is located on Sandown Road near to the turning to Littlestairs Road.
If travelling 'on foot' from London a train ticket can be purchased direct from Waterloo to Shanklin which includes the Fast Cat passenger ferry from Portsmouth to Ryde, travel time is around 2 hours.
